Frequently asked questions
How do I scale a recipe to more servings?
Divide the target servings by the original to get a multiplier, then multiply every amount by it. Our calculator does this automatically.
Can I scale baking recipes the same way?
Mostly yes. Leavening agents (baking powder/soda) can be reduced slightly for large batches — they don't scale exactly linearly. Flour, sugar, fat, and liquid scale perfectly.
How do I halve a recipe?
Set original servings to 4 and target to 2. Watch out for eggs — half an egg means using just the yolk or just the white in most recipes.
